Message from the President

On behalf of myself, the board of directors and our many dedicated volunteers I welcome the young and the elderly to come and enjoy the many exciting events of the 84th annual Williams Lake Stampede.

The Williams Lake Stampede is one of the major stops on the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association’s circuit of rodeos for the 2010 season. Also one of the Canadian Tour events, you can be assured the best of the best of cowboys and cowgirls from Canada and the USA will be here competing for a share of the $150,000.00 of prize money and to earn points to win a spot at the Canadian Finals Rodeo at Edmonton in November.

Without the great support of the City of Williams Lake’s Mayor and council and the many generous sponsors, this event would not happen. “Thank You” to our great volunteers and the spectators who continue to support and keep alive an exciting part of our heritage. Have an enjoyable but safe weekend. The board and myself are pleased and happy to make the Stampede happen.

The Williams Lake Stampede would not exist without the tireless efforts of the Board of Directors and they are just a part of the story. Hundreds of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds give their time, expertise and a whole lot of elbow grease to make this world famous rodeo a success. Hats off to all of you!
